CASE STUDY – INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT COMPANY, CENTRAL LONDON
This company occupies three floors in a prominent building just north of Oxford Street, attracting a rateable value of £970,000, based on an office rate of £425 per sq m. We led a consortium of agents in negotiations with the valuation officer in respect of both this and the adjoining building and after several rounds of discussions, we were eventually successful in agreeing a reduced rate of £360 per sq m thereby reducing the rateable value to £825,000 and saving the client over £230,000 over the course of the rating list.
